The DJ's Journey: From Dreams to Desert Festivals

The responsibility of opening the final day was mine, a task that demanded a unique approach. Unlike a bar or club, where you ease into the night, festivals are high-energy from the start. I had to adapt, crafting a set that matched the crowd's enthusiasm. It was a delicate balance, ensuring my set was both energetic and respectful of other DJs' choices.
The selection of tracks, from Pink Pantheress to Doechii, was a celebration of various genres, creating an unforgettable experience. The crowd's energy was infectious, making it one of the most memorable sets I've played.
Backstage Perks and Pitfalls
One of the perks of being an artist at Coachella is the exclusive access. The artist compound, with its celebrity sightings and gourmet catering, is a world apart. Imagine a lavish spread, from poke bowls to steak, all free! But even with an artist wristband, the festival's realities persist. Long lines, especially for bathrooms, are inevitable, reminding us that even in the VIP areas, patience is a virtue.
Exclusive Retreats
When the desert heat becomes overwhelming, exclusive lounges offer a sanctuary. Red Bull Mirage, with its three-story hub, provided a vibrant day club experience. The Nobu omakase dinner and signature cocktails added a touch of luxury. Meanwhile, Soho House's hideout offered a more relaxed vibe, catering to VIPs with bespoke drinks and live DJ sets. These spaces are where artists and VIPs retreat, recharge, and immerse themselves in a world of exclusivity.
The Festival's Allure
Despite the challenges, why do we keep returning to festivals like Coachella? It's the love of music and the community it fosters. The joy of seeing people connect over shared musical passions is unparalleled. Even with the heat, dust, and crowds, the experience is worth it.
