Introducing the Trenton Ironhawks: Soaring to New Heights
TRENTON, N.J. – After a thrilling two-month name-the-team contest, the Trenton professional ECHL ice hockey team has finally unveiled its identity: the Trenton Ironhawks. This announcement marks a significant milestone as the team prepares to take flight in the 2026-27 season at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey. The name, logo, and official team colors were revealed in front of a captivated crowd, including over 650 fans who have already secured their season membership.
"Today is a momentous occasion as we officially introduce our franchise name, the Trenton Ironhawks, and embark on a new era of professional ECHL hockey in Trenton," said Bob Ohrablo, Team President. "The hawk symbolizes strength and spirit, while the iron industry's legacy and its workers' grit and determination are integral to Trenton's economy. By combining these elements, we pay homage to our city and the team we're building, representing Trenton and the surrounding regions, including Central New Jersey and Bucks County, Pennsylvania."
The team's primary colors, blue, grey, and red, are a powerful representation of the Ironhawks' identity. The logo, designed by the Trenton Hockey team's marketing department and Adapting Social, a renowned digital marketing agency, features a fiery fusion of flames, creating a vibrant blue at the tips of the wings and claws. The body of the hawk is crafted from grey sheets of iron, with red eyes symbolizing the fire within, showcasing the team's intensity and passion.
"We are incredibly grateful to the over 2,000 fans who participated in our name-the-team contest and the more than 650 fans who have already joined as season members," Ohrablo added. "We aim to deliver thrilling hockey and unforgettable family entertainment starting in October and beyond. This team belongs to Trenton, and we invite everyone to be a part of it. It's time to soar for victory!"
