PizzeRizzo Prop from 'The Muppet Show' Special with Sabrina Carpenter
A hidden gem from the now-defunct Muppets Courtyard in Disney's Hollywood Studios has been discovered in the recent revival of 'The Muppet Show' special, which aired on ABC and Disney+ last week. The special, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original show, features a familiar prop that will delight fans of the Muppets franchise.
The prop in question is the PizzeRizzo plaque, a nod to the fictional PizzeRizzo restaurant and the annual Pizza Eating Contest Hall of Fame. This plaque once adorned the wall inside PizzeRizzo, a beloved stage-1 company store and restaurant within the Muppets Courtyard. The discovery was made by X user @Shishagumi, who credited @GIFsofPuppets for the find.

PizzeRizzo was a beloved part of the Muppets Courtyard, a whimsical dining and shopping experience. The plaque, now featured in the 'The Muppet Show' special, serves as a reminder of the joy and creativity that the Muppets brought to life. The Muppets Courtyard, unfortunately, closed permanently last summer and is being transformed into Monstropolis, a new Monsters, Inc.-themed land with a roller coaster.
Despite the closure of the Muppets Courtyard, the Muppets will continue to be represented in Hollywood Studios with the upcoming retheme of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. This transformation will remove Aerosmith and introduce Muppets characters and music, ensuring that the Muppets' legacy lives on.
The 'The Muppet Show' special, starring Sabrina Carpenter, received a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and widespread fan acclaim. The special's success has sparked speculation about a potential complete revival of 'The Muppet Show'.
